Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of BoatTechJobs.com (the “Site”), operated by Clement Sarion, d/b/a BoatTechJobs. By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. What this Site is — and is not

The Site is a job board for the marine trades. We publish and index job listings. We are not an employment agency, a staffing firm, a recruiter, or a party to any hiring decision. We do not screen, rank, score, or match candidates, and we do not participate in any employer’s selection process. Every hiring decision belongs entirely to the employer.

We do not verify listings, employers, wages, working conditions, or the accuracy of anything an employer publishes. Applying for a job is a transaction between you and that employer. Do your own due diligence.

2. Where listings come from

Employers can submit listings directly; other listings are aggregated from employers’ own public careers pages. For aggregated listings we publish a short factual summary and link out to the employer’s own posting; the full advertisement stays on the employer’s site. Our Employer Listing & Removal Policy explains this in full and tells employers how to have a listing removed.

3. Employer posting rules

By posting, you represent that:

• the role is real, currently open, and you are authorized to advertise it;
• the listing is accurate and not misleading as to pay, duties, or location;
• the listing complies with applicable law, including equal-opportunity and pay-transparency requirements;
• the listing contains no unlawful discrimination and no request for money from applicants;
• you own or are licensed to use everything you upload.

We may edit, decline, or remove any listing at any time, for any reason, without notice.

4. Featured listings and payment

Standard listings are free. A Featured listing costs $99 and runs for 30 days from the date it goes live. Payment is processed by a third-party processor; we never see or store your full card number.

Refunds. Before a Featured listing goes live, you may cancel for a full refund. Once it is live, it is refundable on a pro-rata basis for the unused days if you cancel within the first 7 days. After 7 days it is non-refundable. If we remove your listing for breaching these Terms, no refund is due. If the Site is materially unavailable through our fault, we will extend your placement or refund the affected days at our discretion.

Featured placement buys position and visibility. It is not a guarantee of applications, hires, traffic, or search ranking.

5. Acceptable use

Do not scrape, crawl, or bulk-copy the Site; do not resell or redistribute our listings; do not misrepresent who you are; do not upload malware; do not use the Site to harvest personal information; do not interfere with the Site’s operation.

6. Intellectual property

The Site’s design, original editorial content, and compilation are ours. Listing content belongs to the employer that published it. By submitting a listing you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, format, and distribute it on the Site and in any email digest we may operate.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, current, or lawful, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, WAGES, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $99.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Site, your listings, or your breach of these Terms.

10. Equal opportunity

Listings must not discriminate on any basis protected by law. Under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination this includes race, creed, colour, national origin, nationality, ancestry, age, sex (including pregnancy and breastfeeding), marital or familial status, civil union or domestic partnership status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, atypical hereditary cellular or blood trait, genetic information, liability for military service, and military or veteran status. Report a listing that violates this through our report form.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site at any time. Sections 6 through 9 and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date above will change, and continued use of the Site after an update means you accept it.
